From a Tangled Mess

Several weeks ago I submitted a devotional to a Christian e-zine for possible publication. The process was lengthy, and before I hit “send” I must have edited the piece at least 14 times to ensure adherence to the writing criteria. Thinking it was a long shot that my submission would be published I crossed that item off my list and threw myself into writing other pieces.

A few days ago I checked my email and stared in disbelief at the acceptance notice that popped up on my screen. Scrolling through the message I chuckled at the publication date – April 1. Because of the date I was a bit hesitant to share this news with anyone. However, I have checked the site and my submission does exist.

I am always grateful when folks take the time to read what I have written. To grab the attention of any editor is no small feat, and I feel honored that this devotional was accepted for distribution. I am excited to share with you the link to the devotional site.   Thank you for taking the time to click on the link and read the words in print.  I hope that you find the words encouraging.

A special shout out goes to Jen Felty Photography for the headshot. Thanks Jen. You’ve been the only person able to make me feel comfortable about having my picture taken.
