Today I am celebrating a Milestone.

This is my 100^th post, so . . . bring out the confetti and streamers!

While it has taken me many months to accomplish this feat, I’m excited to have made it this far along in the blogging world.

I still remember my very first post and all of the emotions involved in writing that initial story. As I hit the publish button a wave of panic washed over me. What am I going to write about next? was a question I often pondered.

Finding topics to write about hasn’t been difficult. Some event, activity, or conversation always sparks an idea for a post. Often, I have so many ideas that my computer dashboard ends up dotted with documents of posts in the works. When my dashboard becomes too cluttered, I drag the “in process” documents to a file which also has “in process” posts.

My computer isn’t the only source of partial writings. It’s ridiculous the number of notebooks I have stuffed in various nooks and crannies. There’s a half dozen in the book basket by my recliner. I carry several in my backpack. An end table houses another half dozen. A shelf in a closet plays host to a dozen more.

Between the computer files and the notebooks, a treasure trove of partial documents awaits to be rediscovered.

Even though I have resources for topics, maintaining my blog for 3 ½ years hasn’t been easy. Along the way there have been obstacles threatening to sideline my efforts. For example, a few months ago I lost my enthusiasm for writing. In fact, every time I opened my computer I found myself staring at the keyboard unable to string together coherent words. I simply could not write.

Thankfully, that period of writers block has dissipated, and I’m back working on a number of new projects.

I’m even mentoring a group of young aspiring writers through a writing club for high school students. In a future post I’ll share more about this new venture.
